Conflict Resolution Policy
- Purpose
The purpose of this Conflict Resolution Policy is to establish a clear and fair process for addressing conflicts within the Philippine-Australian Business Hub (PABHub). This policy aims to ensure that all members can resolve disputes in a constructive manner, maintaining a positive and professional environment. - Scope
This policy applies to all PABHub members, including individual and organisational members, and covers conflicts arising from interactions, business dealings, or any other activities related to PABHub. - Policy Statement
PABHub is committed to fostering a supportive and harmonious business community. All members are expected to engage in conflict resolution in a respectful and constructive manner.
Conflict Resolution Process
Step 1: Address the Issue Directly
Members are encouraged to address conflicts directly with the involved parties as soon as possible. Clear, respectful communication often resolves misunderstandings and disputes effectively.
Step 2: Request Mediation
If direct resolution is not possible or fails, members should request mediation from PABHub’s designated mediation team. This can be done by submitting a Mediation Request to PABHub’s membership committee.
Step 3: Mediation Session
The mediation team will organise a session with all involved parties. Mediators will remain neutral and facilitate a constructive dialogue aimed at reaching a mutually acceptable resolution.
Step 4: Formal Complaint
If mediation does not resolve the conflict, members can file a formal complaint with the PABHub membership committee. The complaint should be in writing and detail the nature of the conflict and previous resolution attempts.
Step 5: Investigation
The membership committee will investigate the complaint, gathering relevant information from all parties involved. Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the investigation process.
Step 6: Resolution Decision
The membership committee will make a resolution decision based on the investigation findings. Possible outcomes include formal apologies, written warnings, or other appropriate actions up to suspension or termination of membership.
Principles of Conflict Resolution
Respect: All parties must treat each other with respect throughout the resolution process.
Confidentiality: Details of the conflict and the resolution process should remain confidential.
Impartiality: Mediators and ethics committee members must remain impartial and unbiased.
Timeliness: Conflicts should be addressed and resolved promptly to prevent escalation.
Documentation: All steps and decisions should be documented for transparency and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
Members: Responsible for engaging in self-resolution efforts, participating in mediation in good faith, and adhering to the decisions of the ethics committee.
Mediation Team: Facilitates constructive dialogue and helps parties reach a resolution during mediation sessions.
Membership Committee: Investigates formal complaints impartially, makes resolution decisions, and ensures compliance with this policy.
Review and Improvement
This Conflict Resolution Policy will be reviewed annually, or as needed, to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback from members is encouraged to help improve the policy.
All members must abide and adhere to the PABHub Conflict Resolution Policy as a condition of membership.
